Last night took place in Madrid the awards ceremony of 20Blogs Awards, which in its fifth edition has surpassed the 5000 participants.

In the section on Science, Technology and Internet , the winner was "Gem @ BLOG" a proposal at least curious, that mixes design and tools for bloggers. The four finalists were:

• ChicaGeek : everything you need to know about the software more useful for modern life and hooked to the computer.
• Graphic Design with Photoshop: The name says it all ... invaluable.
  
• Science and Demons : the only truly scientific blog all this quintet, and excellent teamwork
• Bloguismo Tips tremendously for people who want to get into this world of blogging.

is clear that the technology blogs got carried most of the honors. I get the impression one of the requirements for blogs scientists to achieve greater exposure would be separated into two distinct categories Science and Technology. Why? Well, one aspect of these awards is that they are granted by the bloggers themselves attached to them. And since there are many more blogs technological scientists, the number of potential voters is very biased. Not to mention that blogs scientists, with few exceptions, usually do not sign up for these competitions. Another possible change would be open to all Internet voting and thus the number of voters could be much higher for both types of blogs.


The other category that particularly interests us here is the Environment , in which the winner was blog "Darwin's Eye" , a blog entirely new work of six enthusiastic of biological evolution, which clearly have managed to lure the readers. But they're not bad the four finalists in this category:

• Animal Abuse: A Legal Crime : an argument against animal abusers
  
• Life Science : a large-known readers Beyond Somosaguas , with vocabulary entries on biological, biology in the XXI century cultural icons, and paleontological imagination in general.
  
• Anima-Blog: a classic of this kind of prize two years ago also managed to be among the finalists for the posts of Science and the Environment.
  
• Iruka stories: Multiple issues related to nature, how could it be otherwise on the blog of a dog.
